The countries with the highest volumes of consumption in 2024 were the United Arab Emirates (7.1K tons), Oman (4.9K tons) and Kuwait (3.4K tons), together comprising 80% of total consumption. Saudi Arabia and Bahrain lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 20%.

From 2013 to 2024, the biggest increases were recorded for Saudi Arabia (with a CAGR of +10.5%), while consumption for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest fungicide and bactericide markets in GCC were Oman ($58M), the United Arab Emirates ($51M) and Kuwait ($40M), together accounting for 83% of the total market.

Kuwait, with a CAGR of +7.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of market size among the main consuming countries over the period under review, while market for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The countries with the highest volumes of production in 2024 were the United Arab Emirates (5.7K tons), Oman (4.9K tons) and Kuwait (3.4K tons), with a combined 92% share of total production.

In 2024, fungicide and bactericide imports in GCC surged to 4.8K tons, increasing by 20% on the previous year's figure. In general, imports saw buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 48% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at 4.9K tons in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2024, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, fungicide and bactericide imports dropped to $35M in 2024. Over the period under review, imports saw prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 53% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $36M in 2023, and then reduced modestly in the following year.

Saudi Arabia (2.6K tons) and the United Arab Emirates (2.1K tons) dominates imports structure, together comprising 98% of total imports. Qatar (82 tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2013 to 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by the United Arab Emirates (with a CAGR of +23.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($22M) constitutes the largest market for imported fungicides, bactericides and seed treatments in GCC, comprising 64% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Saudi Arabia ($11M), with a 32% share of total imports.

In the United Arab Emirates, fungicide and bactericide imports expanded at an average annual rate of +23.2% over the period from 2013-2024. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Saudi Arabia (+4.7% per year) and Qatar (+24.1% per year).

In 2024, the import price in GCC amounted to $7,270 per ton, reducing by -18.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a mild downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2022 an increase of 28%. The level of import peaked at $10,444 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($13,139 per ton), while Saudi Arabia ($4,308 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2013 to 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Qatar (+3.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.

In 2024, overseas shipments of fungicides, bactericides and seed treatments were finally on the rise to reach 711 tons after two years of decline. Overall, exports continue to indicate a notable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 107%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at 1.7K tons in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2024, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, fungicide and bactericide exports skyrocketed to $5.4M in 2024. In general, exports showed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 210%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $10M in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2024, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The shipments of the one major exporters of fungicides, bactericides and seed treatments, namely the United Arab Emirates, represented more than two-thirds of total export.

The United Arab Emirates was also the fastest-growing in terms of the fungicides, bactericides and seed treatments exports, with a CAGR of +3.8% from 2013 to 2024. From 2013 to 2024, the share of the United Arab Emirates decreased by -1.7 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($5.2M) also remains the largest fungicide and bactericide supplier in GCC.

In the United Arab Emirates, fungicide and bactericide exports expanded at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the period from 2013-2024.

The export price in GCC stood at $7,537 per ton in 2024, picking up by 95% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a notable increase. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $10,436 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2024, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for the United Arab Emirates.

From 2013 to 2024, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the United Arab Emirates amounted to +2.3% per year.
